Why are they so expensive?

These boards have a soft shell— but they are very HARD to make.

Each board takes an average of 8 hours extra labor compared to a typical board.

We build these boards using similar methods to any board builder. EPS foam and memory foam rails are all hand shaped. Basalt cloth is lighter and stronger than E glass and is stronger than carbon fiber. Basalt cloth is made from strands of volcanic rock woven into a fabric. We use epoxy resin with the basalt to form a very strong and light board.

BUT there is more—— we then vacuum a smooth aerospace vinyl like foam over the ENTIRE board. Why? Because it makes the board almost impossible to ding. Even if you crack the board inside, the skin will hold back any water from entering. Therefore, insuring this board can TRULY last your lifetime and whoever inherits it beyond.

Waxmat is an optional add on for a minimal cost and eliminates the need for EVA foam deck traction.

Waxmat is a thin low profile silicone like grip which does not grab or stumble your feet like EVA deck traction can do. Waxmat is a perfect match with Cush Tech skin because your feet sink in and the waxmat enables it’s superior grip. Waxmat can also be waxed, and wax can be easily removed, if needed. But our team riders have had great success using just the waxmat and no wax.
